Kukoju is japanese name for Achala

Acala which is translated as "immovable" in sanskrit is a dharmapala primarily revered in Vajrayana Buddhism. Acala, the 'immutable lord', is a wrathful protector and knowledge holder. He is seen as a protective deity particularly in Shingon traditions of Japan where he is known as Fudō Myō-ō and in Tangmi traditions of China and Taiwan as Búdòng Míngwáng.
