We have had this Thangka in our collection for over 30 years now. This thangka was stored away for several years. We recently decided to showcase our vintage thangka collection on platforms such as Etsy. We were thrilled to discover the quality and depth of these beautiful thangkas when we unveiled them and decided to showcase them online for everyone. In early 2000 we changed our company name from J.B.Art Center to Ritual Thanka and focused primarily on collecting and selling thangka paintings. She is especially known for her power to overcome the most difficult situations, giving protection against danger and all kinds of fear. Her green color body is that of the active Enlightenment of Feminine Compassion and indicates that Tara is always willing and ready to help.
According to the legend, Tara is an emanation of Chenrezi, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Once when the suffering of all sentient beings very moved Chenrezi, he shed two tears. The tear from his right eye turned into the green form of Tara and the tear from his left eye turned into the white form.
